Second Citizenships

Economic Citizenship Programmes are available from the CARICOM countries of: St.Kitts & Nevis, Dominica and Grenada.

We are able to process applications directly in all of the above jurisdictions, but recommend St.Kitts & Nevis due to our established contacts and network and direct government connections on Nevis, assuring applicants a smooth, hassle-free, efficient and successful process.

St. Kitts & Nevis, W.I.

The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) is the Government Authority which handles all matters concerning Citizenship by Investment in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. The Citizenship-by-Investment Program was established in 1984, making it the longest established program of this kind in the world. It has distinguished itself from many other similar programs by rigidly enforced investment requirements and meticulous due diligence procedures.

The government of St. Kitts and Nevis utilizes this program to attract investors of good character to make a substantial contribution to the development of the Federation. These investors are then given the opportunity to apply for citizenship and passports within the strict guidelines of the law and the relevant regulations.

There are two investment options available: Purchasing property in an approved property project for a minimum of US$400,000, or a similar investment in the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF). The preferred option is the property purchase as property on the island retains its value and offers capital gain potential as well as rental income potential to prospective owners.

We have direct contacts to various established property developers on St. Kitts & Nevis, particularly the world-renowned Four Seasons Resort on Nevis, which offers a unique property ownership programme through villa ownership on their award-winning 18-hole championship golf course and a Four Seasons rental programme with steady and regular income for the property owners.

Our senior partner Axel von Schubert is a long standing permanent resident of Nevis and an official representative of the Government of Nevis. He has owned property at the Four Seasons Resort and assisted with local development and is able to negotiate excellent conditions as well as assure a smooth ‘fast-tracking’ of Second Citizenship applications. The costs for the complete application process through our ‘fast-track’ is US$250,000 and includes:

All legal fees, government fees, administration and handling costs, US$7,500 for due diligence for the main applicant, US$4,000 for wife and US$50,000 each for registration fees for the main applicant and wife.

The time frame is approximately 3-6 months from the date of submission of the complete set of information and required supporting documents, which include:

  • A formal application document
  • Passport pictures of all applicants
  • Notarized and legalized passport and birth certificate copies
  • Police records and full medical certificates for all applicants
  • 1 financial and 1 character reference for the main applicant
  • Several minor additional items
Application process
Step 1

We require an exhaustive CV (resume’), notarized Passport copy and a banking reference on the main applicant, together with a US$12,500 initial handling fee to present the case to Government and assure that the application has reasonable chances of success and we are able to process the application through our ‘fast track’ system.

Step 2

Once we have approval (usually within 30 days), we proceed with the collection of all additional documents and ask the client to choose a property to purchase. This is something we can assist with directly and remotely and the client does not have to travel to St.Kitts & Nevis, but it is strongly recommended. The remainder of the fee of US$237,500 is payable at this stage into our Firm’s account.

ECMS possesses contacts to the governments of a number of EU Member countries which offer citizenship to only a small and select number of highly qualified applicants.

We have currently two country options available, Malta and Cyprus, where we have obtained several successful citizenship approvals for clients:
